After Bryan Singer was accused of sexual misconduct allegations things haven’t been going great for the director. Singer has just reached out to the powers that be behind ‘Legion‘ and asked that his Executive Producer credit be removed.

Singer hasn’t been involved in the project past its conception so it isn’t a blow to the creative team but the move might help the show’s perception after these allegations surfaced. With a request to remove his name here, it is unclear if Singer will also be taking himself off of the second season of ‘The Gifted‘.

According to ‘Legion’s creator and executive producer Noah Hawley during the Television Critics Association 2018 Press Tour:

“Bryan asked to take his name off the show, so we have done that.”

Sounds like Singer is looking to make sure what happened to him doesn’t hurt the show. Hawley goes on to say:

“Very early on in the conception of the show, I met him a couple of times. He was interested in directing the pilot, but once I stepped in to direct, I haven’t spoken to him since that moment. Really, he was a name on the screen.”

A name that might have alienated some of the audience. It is good to see that Singer recognizes this and is working to not have his tarnished name ruin the brand which he helped establish going forward.
