One of the more intriguing movie releases headed our way in the final few weeks is ‘Bright,’ courtesy of director David Ayer and writer Max Landis.  Coming from streaming powerhouse Netflix and “opening” this weekend, the movie stars Will Smith and Joel Edgerton and takes place in an alternate reality where humans live in (relative) harmony in the same world as such mythical beings as elves, orcs, and other fantastical species.

Ayer is coming off the mixed reviews of DC’s bad-guy-team-up film ‘Suicide Squad,’ and Landis has many writing credits to his name, most notably BBC’s ‘Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency’ and the films ‘American Ultra’ and ‘Chronicle.’

In this clip, we get a fairly action-movie-standard police chase scene, with the added uniqueness of having a police-officer orc handling the driving duties.  Take a look:

Set in an alternate present-day where humans, orcs, elves, and fairies have been co-existing since the beginning of time. Bright is genre-bending action movie that follows two cops from very different backgrounds. Ward (Will Smith) and Jakoby (Joel Edgerton), embark on a routine patrol night and encounter a darkness that will ultimately alter the future and their world as they know it.

Along with Smith and Edgerton, the film also stars Noomi Rapace, Lucy Fry, Edgar Ramirez, Margaret Cho, and Ike Barinholtz (Suicide Squad).

‘Bright’ debuts on Netflix on December 22, 2017.
