I know with David Harbour so busy with the ‘Hellboy’ reboot that some might be worried about a third season of ‘Stranger Things‘ but who am I kidding? Of course Netflix renewed the series of our favorite kids who are struggling to survive in a world that has gone Upside Down all around them! We already knew that the second season was a huge success outside of the episode which saw Eleven going on a road trip. While Netflix never releases their viewership data, Nielsen has a reported 15.8 million having watched the first episode alone during the first three days it was available.

That puts it around ‘The Walking Dead’ for viewership. Also, that is only what Nielsen was able to see so that number is likely lower than how many actually ended up seeing it.

At this time, there is no word as to the episode count for Season 3 though the first season had 8 episodes with the follow up having 9. Perhaps we’ll luck out and see a 10-episode season!

The only real knowledge that we have of the third season is that The Duffer Brothers have almost guaranteed that another year will have passed between seasons for one key reason:

“Even if we wanted to hop into the action faster, we couldn’t. Our kids are aging. We can only write and produce the show so fast. They’re going to be almost a year older by the time we start shooting Season 3… [so] it forces you to do a time jump.”

Hopefully, it doesn’t force any other kids into kissing one another when the series returns if it wasn’t originally in the script.

Are you looking forward to the third season of ‘Stranger Things’? Do you feel that we’ll have more of a focus on the Shadow Monster or the return of “Papa” from the first season? Share your thoughts below!
