After the recent theatrical release of DC’s ‘Justice League,’ folks seem a bit divided on whether the film is “good” or not. The movie has made decent money at the box office, particularly in a worldwide setting, yet the movie is projected to actually lose money for parent production company Warner Bros. The review-aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes lists the film’s rating with critics at a lowly 37%, although the “audience score” is significantly higher at 83%.
One of the biggest questions seems to surround how much of the film was successfully (or not) re-shot/re-edited by Joss Whedon, who came into oversee the final stages of the film’s production upon original director Zack Snyder’s need to step away from the project following a family tragedy. Recently, Snyder’s own son Jett took to social media to express his thoughts on the issue:
“On a more serious note I did enjoy the movie, although it is clearly not what it could have been due to the meddling of Warner Brothers and the forced comedy. The run time was my biggest gripe with the movie, with events that should take a long time over in a flash; but still definitely a fun movie to watch, and would recommend it.”
Sounds like Jett is ready to sign the online petition to get a specific cut of the film released based solely on his father’s vision of the film.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
‘Justice League’ stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Amber Heard, Jeremy Irons, J.K. Simmons, Willem Dafoe, Connie Nielsen, Julian Lewis Jones, and Ciarán Hinds. The film is directed by Zack Snyder, with re-shoots under the directorial control of Joss Whedon.
‘Justice League’ is out in theaters now.
