Captain Marvel

We’ve been eagerly looking forward to the introduction of Brie Larson as Carol Danvers though have learned that ‘Captain Marvel‘ won’t be making an appearance in ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘. As one of Marvel’s heavy hitters and someone thought to be in space with the theme of her origin story being set in the 90s, it seemed like the perfect time to introduce her character. Much like the Guardians of the Galaxy showing up to both save Earth for Peter and go up against Thanos for Drax, Gamora, and Nebula, it would be the perfect time to have this galactic hero returning home as well.

The news came from the Russo Brothers as they confirmed she wouldn’t be appearing. This doesn’t mean we won’t end up seeing her in the still untitled ‘Avengers 4, ‘ but it does mean that one galactic hero won’t be helping out our current Avengers and that it’ll be even longer until we’re released to one of Marvel’s most powerful female heroes.

To be fair, she is kind of a big deal, and it isn’t too surprising that she isn’t showing up so far before her origin story is being told to audiences everywhere. One just has to hope that she’s in suspended animation or imprisoned to have a good reason as to not appear quite yet.

During a press event after Marvel’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2017, the Russos made a simple statement that has crushed any hope of this appearance by saying that “She’s not in Avengers 3.”

With ‘Captain Marvel’ set for a March 8th, 2019 release and ‘Avengers: Infinity War dropping on May 4th, 2018, it makes sense for her to not be introduced at this time. However, ‘Avengers 4’ is due on May 3rd, 2019 so that would be my guess as to when Captain Marvel will find alongside Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Are you sad to hear that we won’t be getting a chance to see ‘Captain Marvel’ debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for another year? Do you feel it is best to hold off on her introduction even with Thanos potentially trying to wipe out all of creation? Share your thoughts below True Believers!
