We may have learned the name of the new monster from the second season of ‘Stranger Things‘, at least what Finn Wolfhard is calling it. This name drop isn’t a guarantee that it is what the series or characters from the show will be addressing it as but at the very least the name Wolfhard has shared in a recent interview might give us an idea of what the monster could even look like.

The Duffer Brothers have been pretty quiet about a few specifics of what we’ll know of the monster outside of the brief shot from the Super Bowl commercial and that it will be more terrifying than the Demogorgon.

So what is this potential name? In a recent interview with TV Guide, Wolfhard stated:

“Our visual effects team is so good. Even the first season we were like really, really cool. But the Shadow Monster — the new one, the big one in the sky — that was like crazy for us.”

So it isn’t clear if he is calling it the Shadow Monster as a description of what we’ve seen so far or if that is the actual name of this new terror from the Upside Down. This naming scheme would be a departure from the Dungeons & Dragons-styled name from the first season but as we’ve only seen a shadow of this new monster he could just be describing it here.

Do you think that the Shadow Monster will be the name of this new entity from the second season of ‘Stranger Things’? Share your thoughts below!

‘Stranger Things’ will be terrifying Netflix viewers this coming Halloween on October 31st, 2017!
