Warner Brothers is pretty serious about ‘Justice League Dark‘ as we’ve barely learned that Doug Liman was off the film and now Andres Muschietti is on the studio’s shortlist to tackle the project. The director of Stephen King’s ‘It’ Part 1 clearly will have a grasp on darker content, and early shots seem to show that he has the tone of the film, so this could end up being good news.

We know that Liman had left the film due to scheduling conflicts with ‘Chaos Walking‘ which he was also involved in, and the studio is scrambling to find a replacement. That being said, while it is news to us there is little chance that Geoff Johns and other WB and DC Films executives weren’t already well briefed about this. Chances are, this shortlist of directors has been being floated for months at this point.

The news came from The Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit in a tweet, so we don’t have too much to go on at this time. It should be noted that he said other names are on the shortlist though Muschietti is likely the studio’s front runner as he was the only name that has been shared.

Whether it be Muschietti or another director, this will now mark the third person to helm the film as Guillermo del Toro had originally been attached since the film’s inception. One would almost wonder what Muschietti’s schedule is looking like compared to Warner Brothers scheduling plan on filming the movie.

There have been no plot leaks so far and just news that it would star such classic team members such as John Constantine, Zatanna, Swamp Thing, Deadman, and Etrigan the Demon. The team is a newer one in DC’s comics as it hadn’t formed until 2011 even though many of its members have worked together in the past.

Do you think that Andres Muschietti would be a good director for ‘Justice League Dark’? What other filmmakers would be good for tackling the film? Share your thoughts below!
