As all Marvel Studios sequels tend to have crossovers these days it should be no surprise that ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp‘ will have one as well with Jeremy Renner‘s Hawkeye rumored to be The Avenger who will make an appearance. Hawkeye and Ant-Man had a great little team-up sequence during the big fight in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ so it could be fun to see them working together in a larger capacity. No word as if to he’ll be here as a friend, for Avengers business, or something else entirely.

We know he doesn’t look to be returning for ‘Mission: Impossible 6’ so it sounds like between ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ the sequel, and however much time he is spending on this one he just can’t fit it into his schedule. It could hint to a role similar to that of Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ though I suspect with Wasp already getting co-billing it won’t be quite as significant.

I mean, it was Hawkeye who ended up picking up Ant-Man to bring him to Captain America in the first place so we might see a little friendship developing. It could be as minor of a scene where we just see Clint Barton dropping off this newer hero though I’d hope for a slightly larger part than that. That being said, both Renner and Michael Douglas who played Hank Pym in the first movie did state that they’d like to work together in a Marvel movie so this could be the chance they have to share screen time.

While Renner hasn’t commented on this rumor, he did share that he was finally on his way to shoot his scenes for ‘Avengers: Infinity War!’
