Lynda Carter has been playing an incredible President Olivia Marsdin so far on ‘Supergirl‘ though we’ve just learned that she’s secretly a Durlan! It makes sense with her pro-alien stances of pardoning David Harewood’s Martian Manhunter and signing an alien-rights bill into law, so it will be interesting as to how all of that plays out if and when her true identity comes to light. Her friendship with Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl also falls into her pro-alien outlook.

In this week’s “Distant Sun” episode we saw that President back and trying to keep both the DEO and our show’s namesake from going to war with the Daxamites who are orbiting Earth. As the episode came to a close, we saw Carter morph into an alien in the privacy of her office. It helped that the name Durlan was mentioned earlier on the show by Mon-El so when asked about her alien status, Carter confirmed it on Twitter:

The Durlan have a long history in DC though the most notable has been Chameleon Boy from the Legion of Super-Heroes. The Legion was already established as being in canon in ‘Supergirl’ as one of their rings were shown in the Fortress of Solitude so this has the potential of all kinds of fun story arcs and characters they could bring into the series. Including, the “Invasion!” comics from the 80s which we’ve already seen the Arrowverse take on.

The next question that we’ll have to ask, though, is if Carter has been a Durlan all along or if she was recently replaced by one.

Are you looking forward to seeing how this new alien presence will play out on ‘Supergirl?’ Do you feel that President Marsdin is friend or foe? Has she been an alien all along? Share your thoughts below!
