Stephen King’s ‘The Dark Tower‘ is a passion project that has been a long time in the making and the first poster is showing exactly how upside down the world we’re about to enter is. In the poster, we see the silhouettes of Tom Taylor as Jake Chambers and Idris Elba as Roland Deschain looking to be well on their journey together. The two are in for an epic quest and to say that it is a bumpy ride is an understatement. However, they are confident in it enough to have pushed back the release date to make it a potential summer tentpole instead of a Spring release.

Fans everywhere need this to be right, and it has to be done in a way that works as both a standalone franchise as well as a continuation of King’s novels for those who haven’t read them.

Here’s the poster!

It looks like it could be the same kind of vibe that the novels would provide.

Synopsis:

Jake Chambers (Tom Taylor) is a young 11-year-old adventure seeker who discovers clues about another dimension called Mid-World. Upon following the mystery, he is spirited away to Mid-World where he encounters the lone frontiersman knight Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), who is on a quest to reach the ‘Dark Tower’ that resides in End-World and reach the nexus point between time and space that he hopes will save Mid-World from extinction. But with various monsters and a vicious sorcerer named Walter Padick (Matthew McConaughey) hot on their trail, the unlikely duo find that their quest may be difficult to complete.

‘The Dark Tower’ will open its doors on July 28, 2017.
