We’ve heard all kinds of rumors at what might be happening in the “awesome” post-credit scenes for ‘Kong: Skull Island‘ and even part of the credits themselves which hint at what will transpire. Now, the scene itself has been described in detail so if you want to read what the hype will be about before the film’s wide theater release this weekend we’ve got your back. If you want to be surprised when sitting in the theater, then this is the time to hit your browser’s back button.

Still with me? Okay, here goes! The studio has decided to use this post-credit space as a teaser in unifying their giant creature feature world.

Things start off with Tom Hiddleston’s James Conrad asking the question “why are you sitting in the darkness? Are you enjoying this?”

He isn’t asking moviegoers this question though but is on the losing side of a two-way mirror where he and Brie Larson’s Mason Weaver are stuck at Monarch in some kind of an interrogation room. Yes, the same Monarch that we were introduced in ‘Godzilla.’

A pair of Monarch agents walk in and tell the two that Kong isn’t “the only King” on this planet before showing them slides of their findings. These slides include the nuclear blast which created Godzilla, cave paintings of Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah, and finally a shot showing Godzilla taking on King Ghidorah.

I’m not quite sure why the agency would show these pair the paintings outside of as a reason for audiences to being able to see them, but I do hope that it means they might return, much older, in one of the future films such as ‘Godzilla: Kong of Monsters.’

As the screen fades to black, we do get to hear Godzilla’s iconic roar and now have to wait impatiently until the next film is out.
