This just in from John Carpenter himself, David Gordon Green (‘Pineapple Express’,’All the Real Girls’) and Danny McBride will write the ‘Halloween‘ reboot with Green set to direct! Not only that but Carpenter is hinting that he’ll do the score, revealed the release date showing that we’re all going to want to mark off October 19th, 2018 on our calendars, and one other surprising little treat! I’m honestly not sure how to feel about this one. On the one hand I truly hate horror films constantly being rebooted and we’ve recently had a different vision of Michael Myers brought to the big screen by Rob Zombie with completely mixed results. On the other, Carpenter gave us the original film and this entire idea has his blessing which makes it one to truly stand out.

Take a quick look at the official announcement that was just shared on Facebook below:

So, not only does it sound like the director and writer have been decided upon but that Carpenter fully approves of their vision! Also, it sounds like we might have a new soundtrack for the horror musical maestro himself! I can’t help but be a little excited at the potential here and just hope that they can follow through on it.
