Justice-League-Trailer-Cyborg

Believe it or not, there were some essential pieces of information in ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,’ meaning that Zack Snyder and company have indeed had a plan all along it would seem, and this is the year to see if the fruits of those plans are going to pay off. Since the movie has come out fans have been speculating about Cyborg’s connection to the Mother Box shown in the film, especially since it was used during his transformation into Cyborg, and it seems that the theories might have finally been confirmed.

What we already knew thanks to Snyder and Geoff Johns was that the Motherboxes would be essential to the mythology of the DCEU and that three were on Earth (one in Atlantis, one with the Amazons, and one with humanity), and that the big bad of ‘Justice League,’ Steppenwolf, was going to be very interesting in regaining those Motherboxes. Now, according to the latest issue of Total Film, it has been revealed that the Mother Box giving Cyborg his powers (ostensibly the one humanity was holding) actually became a part of Cyborg. This should help ease a lot of fan worries about why Cyborg was included in the film since he was not an original founding member of the Justice League, but also give the character a lot of motivation in the film, as he clearly will need to defend himself against Steppenwolf, and potentially be a key part in how they end up defeating the villain once the young hero learns how to harness the power inside himself.

What do you think of this new revelation? Does it make you more excited for the film to see how Snyder was setting things up, and how nicely it plays into the plot of ‘Justice League?’ Or are you disappointed that it goes a little far outside of comics continuity just to make Cyborg a more important character? Share your thoughts on the matter in the comments below!

And here’s the film’s synopsis:

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
