There hasn’t been much news on the reboot of Stephen King‘s ‘IT‘ as of late but we were just given a new look at Finn Wolfhard (‘Stranger Things‘) as Richie Tozier. In the original film, Seth Green had the role and was notably not famous for his later work in ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ or ‘Austin Powers’ quite yet though Wolfhard has already made huge waves with Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things.’ The first shot was shared by Producer Barbara Muschetti, sister of director Andy Muschetti, on Instagram.

Richie was the comedian of The Losers Club and was a stand out in both the novel and 1990 mini-series. This look might not be what fans of the original works were quite expecting but the novel had the kids fighting Pennywise from 1957-58, the mini-series had them in the 60s, while the new adaptation will have the kids fighting against this force of evil in the mid-80s.

It would be interesting to see how they deal with the adult portion which will be set in modern day with the advances of technology which will have a change on how they deal with Pennywise.

Either way, while Wolfhard is no stranger to working in an 80’s style atmosphere from ‘Stranger Things’ one can imagine that ‘IT’ will be much more violent if it at all follows the novel closer than the miniseries did.
