marvel-reassemble

Yesterday Marvel announced that there was a save the date for a surprise and when Square Enix did the same thing we knew something was up. Today we know that the two were related and now we have news of a multi-game partnership between these two fan-favorite companies which is resulting in ‘The Avengers Project’ and we’ve got the first trailer to share with you!

The nearly minute long trailer is super light on details but you can check it out right here thanks to Square Enix:

Which about a minute later was announced by Marvel with the only further details being that Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal were involved as well:

The Avengers project is being designed for gamers worldwide and will be packed with all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that have thrilled longtime fans of the franchise. Featuring a completely original story, it will introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come.

Clearly, if they are going to #Reassemble the Avengers something bad has happened to them and by the look of this trailer, the main members all seem to be out of commission.

There are quite a few story arcs that this could be based off of when it comes to what they show in this trailer though in some instances it also almost looks like the prophetic dreams our heroes experiences in ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron‘ at the hands of the Scarlet Witch. We have no real details at this time on the game itself as to if it is a unique story arc, based off of something that has happened in the comics, or will take place after ‘Avengers: Infinity War.’

We’ll have more news for you as it comes out on the game but just knowing that Square Enix of all companies is now working with Marvel should have plenty of fans hopping up and down in excitement.

Are you looking forward to whatever this game will end up being or do you suffer from superhero fatigue? Will this be an original story or based off of an existing one which we’ve already seen or read? Share your thoughts below True Believers!
