twin-peaksWe’ve been scrambling to find out more about Showtime‘s upcoming ‘Twin Peaks‘ revival and David Lynch has just shared an important piece of information: ‘Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me’ will factor into the new series. When the premiere drops on Showtime on May 21st, 2017 with the first two episodes, we’ll finally see what has been going on since we’ve last visited the town. With 18 episodes to check out, I’m sure it will be a slow burn of information that is shared.

Now that we’ve learned that the film will factor in, I’m sure everyone will be scrambling to fit ‘Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me’ into their viewing schedule though it’ll be hard to tell exactly how much it will play into things.

An exec for Showtime has described the upcoming series as “The pure heroin version of David Lynch” which means we’re about to all be stepping off into the deep end.

While the plot has been mainly held back so far, the Television Critics Association had a panel which had Lynch, Kyle Maclachlan, and some Showtime executives giving minor amounts of details though Lynch did state:

The story of Laura Palmer’s last seven days are very important for this.

For those unfamiliar with ‘Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me,’ Lynch directed the film shortly after the series was canceled and focused on the final week that Laura Palmer was alive. It didn’t really answer many questions and dropped more hints to the series than anything else. This could mean that we’re finally going to learn some answers to Palmer’s murder which was why the show happened in the first place though we’ve got a few more months until we get to find out.

Are you looking forward to the revival of ‘Twin Peaks’? Do you think that Palmer’s murder will finally be explained? Share your thoughts below!

‘Twin Peaks’ debuts on May 21st, 2017 at 9pm on Showtime.
