xx

Horror fans who have been eagerly awaiting the release of ‘XX‘ have some great news coming up as we’ve just learned that Magnet Releasing has teamed with XYZ to bring the horror anthology film to the big screen! The concept behind it was to showcase female talent in horror by giving us four female directors with stories to tell that have some amazing leading ladies bringing these tales to life. The world premiere for ‘XX’ will actually be this January at the Sundance Film Festival with both a theatrical and VOD release dropping on February 17th, 2017.

The directors involved are Annie Clark, Sofia Carrillo, Karyn Kusama (‘Jennifer’s Body’,’The Invitation’), Roxanne Benjamin (‘Southbound’), and Jovanka Vuckovic (‘The Captured Bird’). What we know so far is that Clark will be making her directorial debut with “The Birthday Party” and Kusama will be giving us “Her Only Living Son”, Benjamin is making sure we “Don’t Fall” and Vuckovic will deliver “The Box” while Carrillo is giving a narrative that makes the story come together. Plots aren’t quite available at this time though the shorts will star Christina Kirk, Angela Trimbur (‘The Final Girls’), Breeda Wool, Sheila Vand (‘A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night’), Natalie Brown (‘The Strain’), and Melanie Lynskey (‘Heavenly Creatures’).

Are you looking forward to checking out the four tales in ‘XX’ when it is released? Have the names or talent involved having any specific one sticking of for you so far? Share your thoughts below!
