With the release of these short clips from Marvel Entertainment, I get this giddy feeling I used to experience from when I was a kid and found an old comic book in someone’s attic or basement. And seeing these awesome, live action videos that bring those comics to life is just thrilling.
‘Storm’ from The Official Handbook of the Marvel UniverseIf you are fortunate enough to have have collected the “Marvel Universe” series, you’ll understand what I mean. That series gave us our favorite heroes, and put them in the spotlight on a single page. Along with statistics detailing with their assumed “hero” title their real name, height and weight and details of their origins and source of their powers were also included.
These “Power Pieces” bring back that great feeling I got from reading through page after page of wonderfully detailed information on Marvel’s heroes. I just happen to have had my copy close by, and found ‘Storms’ bio. (See image to the left, click the image for a larger view)
Although the videos don’t go into nearly as much detail, the pleasure we get from the behind the scenes look remains. The character focus piece featured today looks at ‘Storm’ AKA Ororo Munroe.
The ‘Power Piece’ also gives us the first dialogue from Halle Berry’s character, along with some excellent shots of her and her abilities. I’m sure this will be followed by more focus pieces, so be sure to check back with us often to see who pops up next!
