Following the release of a new trailer, FX has also debuted a set of five new promos for their upcoming series ‘Legion’. The show, developed by ‘Fargo’ creator Noah Hawley, tells the story of a young man named David Haller, who has been in and out of psychiatric institutions for much of his life. Though he has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, David begins to suspect that what he believed were hallucinations may, in fact, be real.

The new promos focus largely on David’s therapy sessions and the apparently uncontrolled manifestations of his various mutant abilities, accompanied by a variety of surreal and bizarre images. All five of the new promos for ‘Legion’ are available to watch below:

Originally introduced in issues of ‘New Mutants’ by the legendary team of Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, David Haller (also known as Legion) is the illegitimate son of Professor Xavier. Legion possess an extremely diverse set of mutant powers, but the ones he can use are limited by which of his multiple personalities is dominant at any given time. Although both the studio and the show’s creators have yet to definitively state whether or not ‘Legion’ shares a continuity with Fox’s long-running ‘X-Men’ films, the fact that it is ultimately a spinoff with a strong connection to a core ‘X-Men’ character opens any number of intriguing possibilities for a crossover, should they decide to pursue one.

The cast of ‘Legion’ includes Dan Stevens, Rachel Keller, Jean Smart, Aubrey Plaza, Jeremie Harris, Bill Irwin, and Katie Aselton. Be sure to check back with ScienceFiction.com for more on ‘Legion’ as the show approaches its February 8, 2017 premiere on FX!
