Fans of ‘Westworld‘ who were worried about the return of star Ed Harris (‘Gravity’,’The Abyss’) for the second season can breathe a sigh of relief as they aren’t planning on removing him from the series. When the show was renewed, we didn’t really know if all of the leads would make it for another round but the one thing we do know is that Harris will be reprising his role as the mysterious Man in Black.

While the network didn’t confirm this at all, Harris himself did in a recent BBC Radio 4 interview where the series was brought up:

“Yeah, you know, as a matter of fact, I was just talking to Jonah Nolan last night, who’s a creator of this thing with his wife Lisa Joy, and yeah, they’re doing another season. They’re going to do ten more episodes, and I will be involved.”

Now, there is no word what being involved could mean as to if he’ll be returning for every episode, just a couple, or will continue on as one of the main visitors of the park. With his obsession with finding a maze within it, I would hope that at least gets addressed before he eventually leaves the show. Ideally, many years from now.

Hopefully, it will also address if the series actually is being viewed from two timelines as has been speculated by many fans with Jimmi Simpson playing the same character but only 30 years younger. With a couple episodes left in the first season, it should prove interesting to see if any of this is cleared up before the finale gives us what will surely be one hell of a cliffhanger.

Are you happy to hear that Ed Harris will be back for a second season? Do you think that his return guarantees that he’ll be alive for it or could they have used his DNA to create a host? Share your thoughts below!
