While there is still plenty we don’t know about ‘Jurassic World 2‘, we’ve just learned that two major roles were filled by Toby Jones (‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’,’Captain America: The First Avenger’) and Rafe Spall (‘Prometheus’,’Shaun of the Dead’). Both of these English actors have plenty of genre experience behind them and also just do a fantastic job at whatever role that they fall into. Personally, I can’t wait to see what Juan Antonio Bayona (‘The Orphanage’) ends up doing with these actors when they join Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt who are reprising their roles from the previous film.
With the two actors being English one might think we’ll be closer to Britain in the follow-up but they both are able to pull off a variety of accents pretty flawlessly so I wouldn’t put my money on that. While these two roles are described as “key” to the film with two more such roles currently being tested out with actor auditions, there is no hint at what they might actually be up to when the film is released.
If the film follows tradition though we know that the series clearly likes throwing children into the mix when it comes to dinosaurs and if Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins aren’t reprising their roles then it wouldn’t be too surprising if the next 2 roles to be announced are a new pair of children who end up being chased down by these prehistoric creatures.
