While the trend of fairy tale reimaginings remains popular in film today, it seems that another new trend has emerged: Alfred Hitchcock. Previously, we knew about the difficulties that surfaced during the creation of ‘Psycho’ titled ‘Hitchcock’ (formerly known as ‘Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho’), which stars Anthony Hopkins as the iconic director. Now, it seems like HBO is getting in on the Hitchcock market with their own film titled ‘The Girl’, which examines Hitchcock’s obsessive relationship with Tippi Hedren, star of ‘The Birds’.

In this version, the master of suspense is played by Toby Jones and Sienna Miller steps into the shoes of the beautiful Hedren. Frequent visitors to the site may recognize Jones as The Dream Lord from ‘Doctor Who’ or Dr. Arnim Zola in ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’. He’s also the voice of Dobby the House Elf in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise. And now he’s gone through an incredible transformation to become the great Alfred Hitchcock in this new film. Thanks to Collider, we can see some new shots of the pair, as seen above, and a solo full body shot of Jones in character below.

While it’s hard to top Hopkins’ look in ‘Hitchcock’, I think Jones pulls it off rather well. Miller also bears a striking resemblance to Hitchcock’s leading lady.

‘The Girl’ premieres on HBO on October 20th.
