ghost-rider

The surprise hit from Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘ this year has clearly been Gabriel Luna as Ghost Rider and it seems that more talks of a spinoff series, or something else, have been in the works. Luna had already previously hinted that with the first actual success of bringing the Spirit of Vengeance to life that there might be more once his stint on MOAS was over though the assumed ABC series might not be the only possible direction that they take the character. With hints at other Ghost Riders out there and the introduction of magic into the Marvel universe, there are plenty of directions they could take a show so what might happen with him down the road?

According to Luna on a show:

“I don’t have a preference. People talk about ‘Ah man he’d be great as a feature,’ which is [an] idea too… It could be in the cinema, it could live on Netflix, whatever it is.”

So it sounds like Netflix or even a movie could be a possibility. It wouldn’t surprise me if part of Marvel’s deal with ABC would be to use the characters elsewhere. At the very least, conversations are happening:

“It’s been talked about, there’s definitely deals in place for that potential. But I just take it one day at a time. I have so much fun now I just want to make sure I get these episodes right. If they throw more episodes on my plate, I will do my best to do well with those stories as well.”

As Robbie Reyes really has been a fun introduction to Ghost Rider after those failed Nicholas Cage attempts I would love for Marvel to use him somewhere else. I’m not overly picky on which outlet they pick, just as long as they use him somewhere.

Would you be happy for Luna to reprise his role as Robbie Reyes and Ghost Rider? Would you want them to keep him on ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ or get a spinoff show or movie? Share your thoughts below True Believers!
