Fans in attendance at SDCC’s Marvel panel were treated to an exclusive clip called ‘Team Thor’ directed by ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ helmer Taika Waititi.  This clip reportedly had the audience in stitches as they discovered what Thor was up to during the events of ‘Captain America: Civil War’— which was essentially bumming around, drawing cartoons and working at a “real job.”  ‘Team Thor’ employs a mockumentary style similar to ‘The Office’ as well as Waititi’s vampire comedy ‘What We Do In The Shadows’.  Joining Chris Hemsworth in the clip is Mark Ruffalo, a.k.a. Bruce Banner/The Hulk, who, as we know, will co-star in ‘Ragnarok’.

Until now, only those at SDCC were able to enjoy the laughs, but via Facebook, Marvel has released the clip for all to see.

Does this give us a hint as to what to expect from ‘Thor: Ragnarok’?  Uh, probably not.  But it’s still fun.

Though Waititi has heavily worked in the comedy field, including ‘Flight of the Conchords’, his dramatic films such as ‘Eagle Vs. Shark’, ‘Boy’ and ‘Hunt For The Wilderpeople’ have received critical acclaim and have been film festival favorites.  Hopefully his style will work on a much bigger scale.

‘Team Thor’ will be included as an extra on the ‘Captain America: Civil War’ DVD/Blu-Ray which will be released on September 13th.  (It will be available digitally on September 2nd.)

‘Thor: Ragnarok’ hits theaters on November 3rd, 2017 and also stars Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Jaimie Alexander, Karl Urban, Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, Anthony Hopkins and Jeff Goldblum.
