While we still have no idea what the sixth season of ‘American Horror Story‘ will be about, we have learned that it will be returning to FX on September 16th, 2016. Even the initial logo which was revealed only shows us a 6 made up of a question mark doesn’t give us much to go on. Early rumors have it pegged as 2 separate stories as showrunner Ryan Murphy has previously stated that:

“The interesting thing about the next season is that we’ve been working on two ideas at once, which we’ve never done.”

There is still no confirmation if one of them will be the rumored Slender Man story arc which was floating around though I suspect with the release date coming up so quickly that we’ll learn more soon.

With the premiere date only a couple months away, the series must certainly be further in production than any of the early announcements have suggested so far. Not only that but this will be the first season to premiere prior to the mid-October release that they have always done so far in order to capitalize on the Halloween season. It makes you wonder if we’ll be getting a mid-season break instead of the usual month off prior to the final three episodes being aired or if this will be a straight shot where we’ll actually get the entire season without a break.
