Rob Zombie 31

Rob Zombie’s (‘Halloween‘,’Lords of Salem’) movies aren’t for everyone but the first trailer for ’31’ looks like the perfect bit of fun for anyone who loves his particular brand of horror. This one seems to be calling back more to the style he had developed in ‘House of 1000 Corpses’ and ‘The Devil’s Rejects’ compared to his later films and is set to be a thrill ride that you’ll absolutely remember. For actors he’s lined up his wife Sheri Moon Zombie (‘Toolbox Murders’,’Halloween II’), Malcolm McDowell (‘A Clockwork Orange’,’Silent Hill: Revelation’), Jeff Daniel Phillips (‘Westworld‘,’Faster’) and Meg Foster (‘They Live’,’Masters of the Universe’). Not only did Zombie direct the film but like much of his work wrote it as well.

In the film, we see that five carnival workers are kidnapped on Devil’s Night, the night before Halloween. They are transported to a compound and there have to participate in a game where they have 12 hours to live. If they survive they can go free but to get there they need to match wits and fists against madmen, traps, and each other all for the amusement of those who have captured them.

You can check out the trailer right here:

31 tells the story of five carnies in 1976 kidnapped on the morning of Halloween and held hostage in a remote industrial Hell. While trapped, they are forced to play a violent game called 31. The mission is to survive 12 hours against an endless gang of grease-painted maniacs.

McDowell is playing Father Murder and as you can tell by his name he is clearly not one of the good guys while Sheri Moon Zombie will be one of those who were kidnapped. I’m quite curious to see how this one plays out as most of his films since ‘The Devil’s Rejects’ have either been loved or hated by those who are horror fanatics without much middle ground.

Are you looking forward to checking out Rob Zombie’s ’31’? Do you think this will be the horror film for the Halloween season or will it be beaten out by ‘Ouija 2‘? Share your thoughts below!

’31’ will be abducting you into theaters on October 21, 2016!
