Teen Titans Powerpuff Girls

Two iconic teams of super butt-kickers are about to come face-to-face this summer when The Cartoon Network brings together its two premier crime-fighting groups: ‘The Powerpuff Girls’ will guest star in a special episode of ‘Teen Titans GO!’.

Aaron Horvath, producer on ‘Teen Titans GO!’ expressed:

“It’s a really fun crossover that came about in a very organic way and it was really great getting to put these two iconic superhero teams together.”

‘Powerpuff Girls’ executive producer Nick Jennings added:

“Jump City will never be the same when our little superheroes Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup meet up with the Teen Titans for the very first time. When these two worlds of superheroes collide, it will surely be something to remember.”

The PPGs’ enemy Mojo Jojo serves as the episode’s villain and will distract Beast Boy and Cyborg, while Raven, Robin and Starfire compete with the Girls to determine which is the best team.  The episode also features a catchy song called ‘Monkey Army’.

‘The Powerpuff Girls’ was a phenomenon in the 90s but eventually took a lengthy hiatus.  Previous attempts to revive the brand, usually with major changes, have failed but last month a new series that more closely reflects the original show debuted and has proved to be quite a hit.

Meanwhile, ‘Teen Titans GO!’ is the Cartoon Network’s top rated program.  The show began airing in 2013 and is about to launch its third season.  This slapstick comedy series of shorts is inspired by the more dramatic ‘Teen Titans’ which ran from 2003-06.

Both ‘Teen Titans’ cartoons are, of course, inspired by the long-running DC comic book of the same name.  ‘The Powerpuff Girls’ are an original animated concept, but DC has published comics starring them in the past.

The episode airs in June, but the exact date hasn’t been revealed.

Are you excited to see these two groups cross over?
