Flash

We already knew that ‘Batman V Superman’ would introduce Aquaman and Wonder Woman, but what about The Flash?  The solo movie, starring Ezra Miller as the Scarlet Speedster, directed by Seth Grahame-Smith already has a release date, March 16, 2018, but it was unclear if or when he would appear in ‘Batman V Superman’.  Earlier reports indicated that the character would only appear as a blur on a video monitor, but now it has been revealed that he actually appears in something of a precognitive dream sequence.

According to Entertainment Weekly:

The film is laced with dream sequences for both Batman and Superman that hint at dangers to come – including the possible appearance of DC’s galactic ultra-villain Darkseid. The Flash (played by Miller) appears in one such nightmare of Bruce Wayne’s, delivering a cryptic message to the Dark Knight.

Director Zack Snyder refers to this as “a giant Easter egg” and elaborated, “We had such a straightforward narrative, on one hand, I wanted this other layer of the movie to be complicated and bizarre.”

Could this be a throwback to 1984’s ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ in which Batman encounters what he thinks is a vision of The Flash disintegrating before his eyes?

It’s also not explained how Batman even has a prophetic vision, considering that he doesn’t have any superpowers.  But apparently some secrets have to be kept for the movie.

‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, and Jesse Eisenberg hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
