Gotham Bruce Wayne

EVERYONE knows Batman’s origin.  Dead parents.  Sad.  Dark Knight.  But are you ready to take part in the story?  In association with the upcoming ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’, Amazon is launching a new app that will allow you to investigate this seemingly senseless double homicide.

The new ‘Wayne Investigation’ app is playable through Amazon’s Echo and Alexa voice-activated devices.  Complete with sound effects and music, a player can navigate through a “choose your own adventure” type scenario with a total of 37 decision-making options.  Game play can run between five to 40 minutes.

In the comics, Bruce Wayne’s parents, Thomas and Martha, were gunned down by a random street thug.  Later he was assigned the name Joe Chill and depending on the story, Bruce, upon becoming Batman, either found him and brought him to justice or didn’t.  The story has been tweaked over the years.  In 1989’s Tim Burton-directed ‘Batman’, the murderer was actually Jack Napier, played by Jack Nicholson, who would later become The Joker.  In other tales, the killer remains a mystery.

The app is a tie-in to ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’, and in that film, the Waynes will be played by ‘The Walking Dead”s Jeffrey Dean Morgan and (er…) ‘The Walking Dead”s Lauren Cohan.  The new film promises to add at least one new twist to this all-too-familiar story.

To play the ‘Wayne Investigation’ game, however, you need to own either Amazon Echo or Amazon Fire TV.  Otherwise, you can watch these two poor saps get gunned down AGAIN on the big screen when ‘Batman V Superman’ hits theaters in just a few weeks.

Are you intrigued to become a part of the story?

‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, and Jesse Eisenberg hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
