When we first met Bran Stark on ‘Game of Thrones’, he was just a tiny moppet of approximately ten-years-old, getting shoved out of a tower after witnessing the incestuous brother-sister pairing of Cersei and Jaime Lannister getting busy.  Fortunately for him, the boy survived the fall and when we last saw him, he was getting schlepped around by the simple man mountain Hodor and was starting to have prophetic visions.  He was last shown encountering the Three-Eyed Raven at the end of Season Four, but both Bran and Hodor were completely absent from Season Five.

The sixth season of ‘Game of Thrones’ kicks off in April and while most viewers are most anticipating the possible return of Jon Snow, another treat lies ahead: the return of Bran and Hodor.  Five years have passed since the show began and while that doesn’t necessarily make a difference with the adult cast, the change in the younger cast members, namely Isaac Hempstead Wright who plays Bran and Maisie Williams, a.k.a. his sister Arya.

True, Hepstead Wright had obviously hit puberty when we last saw him, as evidenced when he stopped piggy back riding on Hodor’s back and was instead being dragged around on a stretcher of sorts.  But my how the actor has grown in his year away from the show!

Below is the first look at Hempstead Wright, now 16 years-old, as Bran in the upcoming Season Six:

HOLY SMOKES!  Gone is the longer hair he was sporting… and the chubby baby face!  And though it’s not evident in the picture, the actor now stands at 6′!  Our little Bran is all grown up and might be challenging big half-brother Jon Snow (Kit Harington) as the fantasy world’s newest heartthrob soon!

At the end of Season Four, the Three-Eyed Raven informed Bran that he would never walk again, but Hempstead Wright teased that in Season Six, “He has some interesting visions.”

Season Six will return in April, but HBO has not yet announced the specific date.

Are you intrigued to find out what Bran foretells in his visions?  What else would you like to happen?
