Ah, another week has come, and with it, another all new Toy News Tuesday! We’re the one weekly column right here on ScienceFiction.com where we seek out all of the awesome news you need to know about any announcements and cool happenings in the toy industry and put them all in one easy to find place for you! The holidays are almost upon us and you’ve only got a few weeks left in the year to snatch up all of the awesome collectibles on your wishlists! We hope you’ve been able to find all of the best goodies for the holiday season, but just in case here’s the Toy News for the week of December 8th, 2015!
The Battle Of The Century
While we’re sure it comes as no surprise to anyone considering the massive amount of hype already surrounding this movie, Hot Toys has announced that they will be producing a line of 1:6th scale figures based on next summers ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice‘. They recently posted a teaser image to their social media accounts giving a sneak peek at some of the figures feet. From the looks of things so far, we are set to get Superman, Batman, and Armored Batman at least! We will follow up with more as the information is released from Hot Toys.
Hot Toys Wields The Power Of The Force
It seems like every week Hot Toys is announcing more and more new ‘Star Wars’ product, and with the release of ‘The Force Awakens‘ just two week away, it should come as no surprise that they have even more coming! This week Hot Toys is heading to the planet Jakku with their all new 1:6th scale figures of Rey, BB-8, and a Jakku Edition Stormtrooper! Check out the full releases from Hot Toys below:

The release of the long awaited Star Wars: The Force Awakens is almost here! Featuring a cast of new and familiar faces, the epic sequel will surely take fans on a very exciting journey in a galaxy far, far away! Today, Hot Toys is thrilled to officially present the 1/6th scale collectible figure of the movie’s heroine – Rey!
Rey is a resilient survivor, a scavenger toughened by a lifetime of dealing with the cutthroats of the harsh desert world of Jakku. We are sure Star Wars fans just can’t wait to see her and find out the story about her.
The highly-accurate collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of Daisy Ridley as Rey in the film featuring a newly developed head sculpt, two interchangeable looks, finely tailored outfit, highly detailed accessories, and a hexagonal figure stand with the Resistance’s emblem.

The long wait is almost over. The worldly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens will finally begin hitting theatres around the globe in 2 weeks.
With the story set 30 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi in this new film, fans will see brand new characters and see how the story unfolds on the desert planet Jakku!

The highly-accurate collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of First Order Stormtrooper on the desert planet Jakku in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. They’re Bringing The Party To You!
Just when you thought it was safe to go back into collecting, Hot Toys has announced yet ANOTHER Iron Man Armor variant! This time it’s the Iron Man Mark XXVI Armor, aka Iron Man Gamma Armor. This figure marks yet another awesome suit of armor off of the extensive checklist seen in the finale of 2013’s ‘Iron Man 3’. Check out the full release from Hot Toys below:
Iron Man 3 1/6th scale Gamma (Mark XXVI) Collectible Figure
The Hot Toys “House Party Protocol” continue to expand today for Iron Man fans with the official reveal of the Gamma (Mark XXVI), Heavy Construction Suit Upgrade, 1/6th scale collectible figure as a Hot Toys Exclusive item!
In addition to being able to resist extreme temperatures and devastating electrical surges, the suit gains its nickname “Gamma” for the ability to withstand Gamma Radiation.
The collectible Figure stands approximately 34cm tall, featuring suit’s distinctive design with a pair of spring-loaded Pneumatic Hammers, specially applied dark green, gray, and silver painting on armor with weathering effects, LED light-up functions, and a dynamic figure stand.

Winter Is Coming To Dark Horse
The team at Dark Horse Deluxe has released a formal announcement of their upcoming Nights King Limited Edition Bust from the hit HBO fantasy series ‘Game Of Thrones‘! While this piece premiered at NYCC 2015, this is the first official release regarding this high end collectible, which is sure to be a “must have” for any ‘Game Of Thrones’ fans! Dark Horse is heading into the holidays with the reveal of the latest release in its growing line of figures and collectibles based on characters from the smash-hit HBO® series Game of Thrones®. Modeled after the leader of the White Walkers who raised the fallen wildlings in the aftermath of the massacre at Hardhome in one of Season 5’s most shocking moments, the Night’s King bust will be available in spring 2016.
Drawing on the skills of sculptor Dave Cortes, Dark Horse has captured the Night’s King in full detail. The bust measures 8 3/4 inches tall. His 12-inch arms are raised as if he is a conductor orchestrating a crescendo, while his otherworldly blue eyes challenge Jon Snow and the Night’s Watch army as they retreat.
“Demand for our previous large-scale Game of Thrones statues and busts has been tremendous,” said Dark Horse Product Development head David Scroggy. “Items like our 14-inch Iron Throne replica, the Jon Snow and Ghost statue, and the Daenerys and Drogon bust have sold through quickly. We expect the Night’s King bust to be just as popular!”
This limited edition bust is sure to be the centerpiece of any Game of Thrones collection.
The Night’s King bust will be packaged in a full-color, oversize collector box. The release date is set for April 2016. Suggested retail price is $129.99.
The Most Jawesome News Of All Time
Brace yourselves, and seriously, you may want to sit down for this one, but according to the crew over at ToyArk, Mattel has recently applied for a new Trademark for ‘Street Sharks’! Last week it was revealed that Mattel was applying for a new Trademark for the classic ‘Dino Riders’ line from the 80s, and this week they are going full on into one of the most 90’s properties that ever existed, ‘Street Sharks’! The original ‘Street Sharks’ toyline and animated series lasted a few short years in the mid-90’s, and featured four teenage brothers that got turned into turtle… I mean SHARKS! That’s right, they totally turned into Sharks, which is an original thing and not at all the same thing as the plot from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (we promise!). Either way, ‘Street Sharks’ was pretty awesome, and it would be pretty incredible to see this property make a comeback!
NECA’s Got Game
In a surprise move that answered the prayers of video game fans worldwide, the team at NECA has announced an all new figure two pack based on the classic old school video game shooter, ‘CONTRA’! This figure two pack includes both of the classic heroes Bill and Lance, all painted up in their 8-bit glory! Check out the full release from NECA below:
We are proud to welcome a long-awaited, frequently requested addition to NECA’s line of classic video game tribute figures — as well as the first appearance of non-movie-based characters in the series. This special edition 2-pack from the fan favorite video game Contra includes Bill and Lance in an homage to their 8-bit glory days with Konami.
Standing approximately 7” tall, the figures have all new head sculpts and “pixilated” paint deco. The set includes custom-designed weapons based on the classic game; detachable blast effects for the weapons; and that infamous power-up capsule with a clear support stand for “floating” effect. Back To Basics
The crew over at NECA also offered a glimpse of what is coming up in their fan favorite ‘ALIENS’ line this week! A sneak peek at the upcomign Series 7 includes a look at several figures from ‘Alien vs. Predator’ like the Warrior and Grid Aliens, as well as a special new concept figure based on the original prototype designs from the 1979 sci-fi masterpiece, ‘ALIEN’! Series 7 includes brand new figures from Alien vs Predator, which are the perfect companion pieces to our currently available AvP-based Predator figures. The Warrior Alien and Grid Alien feature over 30 points of articulation and bendable tails, and stand over 9” tall.
Also in this series is NECA’s very first concept figure based on the original prototype suit for the “Big Chap” Alien in the 1979 movie. H.R. Giger originally had the suit cast in a translucent flesh-tone but, in one of the many technical hurdles that had to be overcome to bring his creature to life on screen, repeated difficulties with the material forced the change to the coloring seen in the movie. The figure features 25 points of articulation and bendable tail, and stands over 9” tall.
Look for these to be released in April 2016.

Get ready for the Funko Forecast! This is where we’re going to be showcasing all of the cool new announcements and reveals from Funko! With all of the awesome that consistently seems to be flowing out of those guys, it shouldn’t be hard to keep this section alive each and every week!

We’ve got a fantastic new exclusive Doctor Who Funko POP! Vinyl coming our way from Gamestop/ThinkGeek! This newest figure is a ‘Regeneration’ version of the 10th Doctor, which means he’s wearing the 9th Doctor’s clothes! To make it extra special, he even glows in the dark! It’s been quite some time since we saw anything new from this line, so it’s exciting to announce that there is more “Adventure Time’ coming from Funko! The latest wave of ‘Adventure Time’ POP! Vinyls is set to include The Lich, Flame Princess, Marceline (w/Guitar), and a POP! Ride of Jake The Dog as a Car with Finn! These are due out at the tail end of this year!
Here Comes The Spider-Maaaan!
Funko has revealed another Walgreens Exclusive Marvel POP! Vinyl that is coming our way next month! This time it’s the ‘Iron Spider’ Spider-Man figure from the 2006 classic ‘Civil War’ storyline! Be sure to keep an eye peeled for him and has casemates this winter at Walgreens!
