Ready… set… binge!  Marvel’s latest Netflix collaboration ‘Jessica Jones’ will become available to view in its entirety on Friday and after the positive response ‘Daredevil’ got, most shouldn’t need incentive to watch.  But considering that both Jones (played by Krysten Ritter) and her nemesis on the show, Kilgrave (David Tennant) are not as well-known as Daredevil and the Kingpin, some new clips have been released that will give you a better idea of what to expect from Kilgrave and his mind control powers.

In the comics, in which the character’s name is spelled K-I-L-L-G-R-A-V-E with two Ls, by the way, the villain has purple skin and hair and his powers emanate from pheromones in his body.  On ‘Jessica Jones’, obviously Tennant has a more normal appearance and his powers stem from his voice.

In the first clip, Kilgrave commits the most civil home invasion ever as he invites himself into a suburban home for dinner.  But despite the relatively peaceful setting, Tennant exudes menace as he casually fingers a steak knife while seated at the dining table.

In the next clips, Tennant shows how Kilgrave accumulates his criminal fortune, or at least the start of one, as he plays a completely one-sided game of poker.  (The first clip cuts off abruptly, but continues in the second.)

‘Jessica Jones’ is executive produced by Melissa Rosenberg who is also the show’s creator and showrunner.  In addition to Ritter and Tennant, the show stars Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeryn Hogarth, Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, along with Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty and Wil Traval.

Once again, ‘Jessica Jones’ is available on Friday.
