We’ve all heard how Jared Leto has fallen a little too into his role as The Joker for Warner Brothers upcoming ‘Suicide Squad‘ but it seems the experience was a little more painful than you would have imagined. While one would see that playing the Crown Prince of Crime would be both difficult and a potential highlight for a career, the way Leto describes it would probably have most actors not relishing the thought of applying the white makeup again.

Either that or he was still stuck a little in character while responding to how he created his Joker persona. Here’s what he had to say:

“I took a pretty deep dive. But this was a unique opportunity and I couldn’t imagine doing it another way. It was fun, playing those psychological games. But at the same time it was very painful, like giving birth out of my prick hole.”

So that happened. Of course we all know how Heath Ledger ended up after falling a little too far into losing himself into the role. Perhaps Leto is trying to carry on that condition and feels it is necessary to bring the performance to life.

We do know that he went so far into the role that Will Smith said that he’s “I’ve never actually met Jared Leto. We worked together for 6 months and we’ve never exchanged a word” because “He was all in on the Joker.”

Do you think that Leto is going to give us a Joker that is both different and at the same time as compelling as Ledger’s? Was this the perfect casting choice to have someone who could embody the part or are we going to be wishing it was all over before ‘Suicide Squad’ even gets released on the big screen?
