With the New York Comic Con starting off the day, what better time to announce some big Marvel news. Looks like the House of Ideas has decided to shake things up a little in their Phase 3 plans and have added an ‘Ant-Man‘ sequel into the mix.

While that alone may sound exciting, what makes this news even better is that he won’t be headlining alone. With the popularity of Evangeline Lilly in the role of Hope Van Dyne, fans will be happy to see that The Wasp will not only be sharing scenes with the minute superhero, but will be alongside Ant-Man in the film’s title which has been revealed as ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp”! The film will mark the first time Marvel has featured a superheroine in its title.

‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ will be released on July 6, 2018. If that date sounds familiar, it should as it was the original release date for ‘Black Panther.’ That film (which just recently announced that it has found its screenwriter) will premiere sooner and will now be released on February 16, 2018 before ‘Avengers: Infinity War Part 1.’

Marvel also announced that they are shifting the highly anticipated ‘Captain Marvel’ film from November 2, 2018 to March 8, 2019 and set release dates for 3 unnamed mystery films which will premiere on May 1, July 10 and November 6, 2020.

So with the addition of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp,’ Phase 3 of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe is looking to be quite extensive! Here’s what we have so far:

  • ‘Captain America: Civil War’ – May 6, 2016
  • ‘Doctor Strange’ – November 4, 2016
