We know you’ve been dying for an update on the Syfy original post-apocalyptic zombie western ‘Dead 7’ starring members of the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC, so here it is!

The film is currently shooting and was the brainchild of Nick Carter (the young blond one from BSB) and co-stars his wife Lauren Kitt as well as bandmates Howie Dorough (a.k.a. Howie D) A.J. McLean and Joey Fatone from former rival boyband *NSYNC.  (He was the “Y”.)  Here’s a special surprise, though!  Just as the ‘Sharknado’ movies, also on Syfy, lure the biggest names in D-List celebs, expect a parade of former hit-makers to grace this flick.  Jeff Timmons from yet another boyband 98° and Erik-Michael Estrada and Jacob Underwood from YET ANOTHER boyband O-Town are also in it, along with Seth “Shifty Shellshock” Binzer from pop-metal-rap group Crazy Town and Gerardo Mejía, who you probably know better as just Gerardo, the Latin singer responsible for the early 90s hit “Rico Suave” and for attempting to make male hair extensions happen.  Also starring are B-movie starlet Carrie Keagan and Chloe Lattanzi, the daughter of eternal pop goddess Olivia Newton-John.  (Carter had previously hoped to cast Niall Horan from current pop sensation One Direction, but I guess the answer was no, or more likely “Nick who?!”)

The movie is in production now and Carter Instagrammed some set pics to give you a taste of what to expect.

Here is Nick with Jacob Underwood:

And with Fatone and Estrada:

Carter previously described ‘Dead 7’ by saying it was about a “ragtag band of gunslingers… It’s a zombie Western futuristic horror movie. My character is still being worked out right now, but I’m a good guy that’s going to help save the day.”

Can we expect even more familiar pop faces?  “There’s a wish list of people that I want. I want it to be musically based. I might reach out to Jordan from the New Kids on the Block.”  Well if anyone can hang tough against a zombie infestation, it’s him!  And NKOTB and BSB have toured together in the past, so there’s already a connection.

Are you ready to face this zombie apocalypse in the wild west future?  Can these former boybanders kick not only zombie, but ‘Sharknado’ butt?  More importantly, will it give you ‘Liquid Dreams’?  Tune in next year when Syfy unleashes ‘Dead 7’ on the world!  It’ll be ‘The Hardest Thing’ to resist!
