The general consensus is that Matthew Vaughn’s ‘X-Men: First Class’ is one of the best superhero movies ever created. Yes, there are a few issues in regards to faithfulness to the source material and stuff like that, but as a movie it was still pretty awesome largely in part to a great cast, an excellent story, and a great director. Now, for his next trick, the ‘Kick-Ass’ director is adapting the popular ‘Uncanny X-Men’ storyline by Chris Claremont for his ‘First Class’ follow up titled ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’. But, since the story involves some X-Men in the future, could that mean that we’ll be seeing some familiar faces from, let’s say, Bryan Singer’s X-Men films? Sir Patrick Stewart seems to think so.

According to Newsarama (via Geek Tyrant), the iconic actor thinks that the chances of him reprising his role as Professor Charles Xavier are very good. Not only that, but he thinks that his fellow cast members will return as well. When a fan asked him about returning to the franchise, he said:

“I think there is every possibility. Halle Berry! Famke Janssen! Rebecca Stamos! Anna Paquin! Yes, I’ll be reprising…”

Considering Rebecca Romijn-Stamos reprised her role as Mystique in Vaughn’s first X-Men film, it’s not hard to believe that others would follow suit. And with Stewart being so eager to sit back in the wheelchair, I feel like it’ll only be a matter of time before we actually get to see it.

Now the question is whether or not we’ll actually get to see the X-Men universe connect with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in our lifetime.

‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ is set to be released on July 18, 2014.
