Despite early rumors that Spider-Man would only get a brief cameo in the upcoming ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ it seems Marvel has found a way to get the most out of the character joining the MCU, even before they cast Tom Holland as Spidey’s alter-ego, Peter Parker. The thing to remember is that Tom Holland’s part in the film will be a cameo, a brief scene where he plays Peter Parker. But since Spider-Man himself wears a full-body, face-covering costume, he can appear in the movie without Holland, which is how they were already shooting Spider-Man in the film even before the young actor was cast. Afterwards, all they would have to do is have Holland loop in some dialogue, which can happen at any time, and suddenly Spider-Man can have a larger role in the movie without having to have the actor playing him around.

It is exciting mainly because, as comic fans know, Spider-Man should have a large role in ‘Civil War,’ as he is a major factor in the comic incarnation of the story, and should be at least somewhat important in the film. And with the other rumors floating about that Spider-Man also has a major fight scene in the film, I know I’m not the only one excited to see what the new Spidey can do, especially with Marvel’s ideas surrounding the character, promising a fight scene very different from how the other heroes of the MCU battle, due to the young, inexperienced, and frankly dorkly personality of Peter Parker at this stage in the game.

As for the future of Spider-Man in the his own franchise, there has been some talk from ‘Spectacular Spider-Man’ writers John Francis Daily and Jonathan M. Goldstein about the work cut out for them, and according to the quote reported over at ‘Birthmoviesdeath.com’ :

“Daley and Goldstein will have to contend with special effects of a different sort over the next few months, as they’ve been drafted to write Marvel’s new Spider-Man reboot. That’s still in the early stages, as Goldstein says they’re going in to Marvel this weekend to look at footage of Tom Holland’s cameo as Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War. “We hear good things,” he said. “We might even get to look at the Spidey suit, which is exciting.” Forget any rumored cast lists that have been floating around the web, however: “We’ve discussed certain characters,” said Daley, “but nothing is certain yet, for sure.”
