Hello there one and all! Welcome to an all new edition of Toy News Tuesday! We’re the one weekly column right here on ScienceFiction.com where we seek out all of the awesome news you need to know about any announcements and cool happenings in the toy industry and put them all in one easy to find place for you! Holy crap you guys, how cool was San Diego Comic Con this past weekend?! There is a ton of Toy News that came out of the convention that we have been keeping up with posting for you all weekend, and have even more coming your way still! That said, here is a ton of non-SDCC related toy news for you to delve into! Let’s check out the Toy News for the week of July 14th, 2015!
“What A Piece Of Junk”
While not entirely wrong, Luke Skywalker would be quick to eat his words after seeing what the Millennium Falcon can do once it gets going! While they are primarily known for their absurdly detailed 1:6th scale action figures, Hot Toys recently announced they were trying something new with their all new 1:6th scale Millennium Falcon Cockpit playset!
Well, it’s kind of a playset, but not really. By no means, is this piece something that should be ‘played’ with, but rather a beautiful piece of art for you to display your Hot Toys 1:6th scale ‘Star Wars’ figures in! Not a lot of details have been released for this glorious display piece just yet, but from the looks of it, the Hot Toys 1:6th scale Millennium Falcon Cockpit will be well worth the cost of picking one up! It’s got a fully detailed cockpit with four seats, all the screen accurate control panels, a cockpit cover for an enclosed display, and even some nice details on the back of the doorway into the cockpit so that you could display figures standing just outside the door as well if you so chose! Hot Toys has been introducing a number of finely detailed and meticulously crafted collectible figures from the beloved Star Wars series and now Hot Toys is raising the bar once again to bring Star Wars fans some astonishing collectibles of the saga’s spacecrafts in 1/6th scale!
Avengers and Jedi and Cyberninja’s OH MY!
The team at Hot Toys never seems to rest when it comes to releasing all of the coolest toys under the sun! Each figure form their 1:6th scale collections is crafted with pain-staking attention to detail to bring collectors what is usually the single most accurate action figure interpretation of any character they make. This week they announced not one, but three all new figures that are coming out way as ‘traveling exclusives’ at special Toy Fair events over the course of the next year! Check out the all new Hot Toys Avengers Maria Hill, Star Wars Stormtrooper Luke Skywalker, and Metal Gear Rising Inferno Armor Raiden!
Avengers 1:6th Scale Maria Hill
Maria Hill has been an important character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe where she has assisted Nick Fury and the Avengers when faced with dangerous situations and their adversaries.
Fans have been longing for the 1/6th scale collectible figure of this tough and clear-headed female agent and now Hot Toys is thrilled to introduce the new 1/6th scale Maria Hill Collectible Figure based on Avengers: Age of Ultron as one of the 2015 Toy Fair Exclusive items!
The movie-accurate collectible is specially crafted based on the image of Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill in the film featuring a newly developed head sculpt, finely tailored outfit, weapon and accessories, and an Avengers: Age of Ultron themed figure stand.
Agent Hill will be a great addition to your Avengers: Age of Ultron collection.
Star Wars 1:6th Scale Stormtrooper Luke Skywalker
“Aren’t you a little short for a Stormtrooper?”
On a chance purchase of the two droids, C-3PO and R2-D2, Luke Skywalker has discovered a desperate message from Princess Leia’s call for help which has changed his life forever! After encountering Ben Kenobi, Han Solo and Chewbacca, they have set off on a journey to aboard the Death Star to rescue Princess Leia.
In one of the classic scenes in A New Hope, Luke Skywalker has disguised as a Stormtrooper to infiltrate the detention centre where the Princess is held captive. Today, Hot Toys is pleased to announce the 1/6th scale Luke Skywalker (Stormtrooper Disguise Version) Collectible Figure as one of the 2015 Toy Fair Exclusive items!
The movie-accurate collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of Mark Hammil as Luke Skywalker disguised as a Stormtrooper in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.
It features a newly painted head sculpt, specially tailored Stormtrooper armor, an interchangeable Stormtrooper helmet with mechanically detailed interior, weapons and accessories, and a figure stand.

Metal Gear Rising 1:6th Scale Inferno Armor Raiden
“I said my sword was a tool of justice. Not used in anger. Not used for vengeance. But now… Now I’m not so sure. And besides, this isn’t my sword.” – Raiden
Many video game fans are no stranger to Raiden from the internationally acclaimed Metal Gear series! The cyborg Raiden has become one of the most popular characters of the game series! In Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, there are a number of different costume designs for Raiden and today Hot Toys is pleased to present the 1/6th scale Raiden (Inferno Armor Version) Collectible Figure as one of the 2015 Toy Fair Exclusive items!
The collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of Raiden in his Inferno Armor in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance featuring a highly detailed head sculpt, specially applied metallic red and gold colored armor, meticulously constructed body, a high-frequency blade, a HF Murasama with sheath, an assault rifle, a newly designed visor with digital pattern, and figure stand.

ThreeZero have announced an all new 1:6th scale IMC Battle Rifle Pilot straight out of last years video game smash hit ‘Titanfall’! This highly detailed 1:6th scale Titanfall figure is jam packed with details and comes loaded to the gills with awesome accessories like several guns and a ton of alternative interchangeable hands! This bad boy also features a light up LED feature in his helmet, which you can alternate between Blue and Red colors. This guys is set to go up for pre-order later this week directly from ThreeZero! “SWEAR TO ME!”
Herocross have announced yet another figure in their ongoing Hybrid Metal series! This time around it’s Batman as seen in Christopher Nolan’s ‘Dark Knight Trilogy’! This tiny 5.5″ figure will sport the costume Batman wore in both ‘The Dark Knight’ and ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, rather than the one from ‘Batman Begins’.
It is set to include a ton of awesome accessories like interchangeable hands and faces, grapnel gun, electric gun, as well as an in-scale light up Batsignal! Even better, Batman will sport light up eyes for his special ‘sonar vision’ as seen in the climax of “The Dark Knight’! At $115, he is a little pricey for such a small scale figure, but with all these great accessories how could you even consider passing on what looks like an amazing collectors piece? Heroes Of The Storm Are Rising
This week NECA revealed some of the figures in the upcoming second wave of figures from their popular ‘Heroes Of The Storm’ toyline based on characters from various Blizzard Entertainment franchises like ‘Diablo’, ‘Warcraft’, and ‘Starcraft’! The two newest figures in this series are set to be Arthas from ‘World of Warcraft’ and Tyrael from ‘Diablo III’! These figures are set to hit the market this November! Revealed at the con in full were Beebop, Rockseteady, Leatherhead, as well as new sculpts and color variants of the Turtles, Splinter and Shredder! Get ready for the Funko Forecast! This is where we’re going to be showcasing all of the cool new announcements and reveals from Funko! With all of the awesome that consistently seems to be flowing out of those guys, it shouldn’t be hard to keep this section alive each and every week!
Once Upon A Time…
While there isn’t a set release date for these guys yet, now we have some freshly released glamor shots of the upcoming wave of POP! Vinyl figures based on the hit live action fantasy-drama ‘Once Upon A Time”! This wave includes fan favorites like Captain Hook, Prince Charming, Snow White, Regina, Rumpelstiltskin, and Emma Swan!

Special Ted
There isn’t much info out there for this guy yet, but the team at Pop Vinyls caught notice of this special new ‘Ted’ POP! Vinyl figure sporting a ‘Flash Gordon’ tee shirt! This image was taken from a promotional posted given away at Barnes & Noble stores during this past weekend’s SDCC events, and it is currently unconfirmed if this particular version of the ‘Ted’ character will be a store exclusive, or a wide release to hit stores at a later date.
