O ‘Hannibal’, ‘Hannibal’, wherefore out thou ‘Hannibal‘!? After NBC cancelled Bryan Fuller’s series (based on the books of Thomas Harris), after only three gloriously gory seasons, it’s still now desperately seeking a new home.

Unfortunately 2 weeks have gone by since it’s gotten the ax, and already Netflix and Amazon have passed on picking up the series for any additional seasons or hell, even just a final season.

Amazon seemed like the obvious knight in shining armor to save this fan favorite, as it already holds exclusive streaming rights for any/all content, but alas, it was not meant to be.

However, scheduling issues have arisen for both stars of the series, Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen as they’re already being pursued with various TV and film offers and the cast members have been let out of their contracts. Not to mention, Fuller himself has another series in the works, ‘American Gods’ (to air on Starz), which will also put a hinderance on continuing with the immediate pickup of the show.

But fear not, Hannibalites, salvation may yet be found, as Fuller is not given up quite yet. He took to Twitter on July 6th stating that “WE’RE STILL INVESTIGATING POSSIBILITIES” (full tweet below).
