With NBC cancelling ‘Hannibal‘ and everyone wanting someone else to pick it up, there is now a petition to try and get another network to do just that! Petitions have been used in recent years to try and change corporate viewpoints on shows and movies though as seen in the instances of ‘Constantine‘, ‘Forever‘, ‘Dredd‘, and to keep Andrew Garfield as Spider-man, they more often than not fail.

Still, as I’m hungry for more of this amazing series I would love for a chance to see the series carry on at Amazon or some other outlet.

At the time of writing this we’ve already seen the petition rocket past the 60,000 mark and that number is still climbing! While I know that the petition is more likely wishful thinking, I made sure to add my name to that list.

Bryan Fuller has really made something special with his take on the show. The cast which consists of Hugh Dancy, Mads Mikkelsen, Caroline Dhavernas, Hettienne Park, Laurence Fishburne, Scott Thompson, Aaron Abrams, and Gillian Anderson have had them all putting out some of their best performances to date.

In the press release giving details about the series cancellation Fuller said that “a hungry cannibal can always dine again” which has sparked rumors that the series is hoping to continue through another distributor.

Personally I’d like to see that rumor become a reality. While the series will continue to run the remainder of this season’s 13 episodes with a now series finale instead of a season finale, I know that the cast and crew had always wanted to get through all of Thomas Harris’ source material. Not just ‘Red Dragon’ and the mashup of ‘Hannibal’ and ‘Hannibal Rising’ that they were giving us but their own take of ‘Silence of the Lambs’ as well. With all of the excitement they’ve shown at the San Diego Comic-Con with details this was a series I was truly hoping would air through to the end.

So my fellow Fannibals, would you be thrilled to see ‘Hannibal’ continue on another network? Do you think there is enough interest to bring the adaptations to a close? Share your thoughts below!
