Hot off the heals of a successful opening weekend we’ve learned that Chris Pratt (‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘,’Her‘) is set to return for more ‘Jurassic World‘ movies!

In this day and age of blockbuster franchises it should be no surprise that Univerasl Pictures would want to extend the life blood of a potential money maker with a lead who is quickly been put on the fast track to becoming a Hollywood A-lister if he can keep up the momentum on the big screen. Of course, with such an amazing movie, who wouldn’t want to see more dinosaur action if they can find a plot that will keep us involved.

When asked if he was signed up for another ‘Jurassic’ film Pratt said:

“I am. They have me for I think 38 movies or something.”

The 38 aside, it does sound good that we’ll be seeing him in at least one more. With Hollywood being what it is I would expect that they would want this to be a trilogy or 4 film run though only time and box office sales will really tell how a new franchise will fair.

That being said, the film made $82.3 million opening day which makes it the third largest debut of a movie of all time trailing behind ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ at $84 million and ‘Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 2’ at $91 million. Needless to say that if a sequel had been questionable, it is probably quite high in Universal’s “To Make” list now.

It is fun to note that this film has quite literally been a dream come true for Pratt. For him ‘Jurassic Park’ was his ‘Star Wars’ theater experience.

“It was the first event movie in that way. I was 13. It started when I saw the movie trailer on TV. Like the sound of the feet thundering and the water shaking on the glass and the T. Rex making the sound the T. Rex makes and then Jurassic Park by Steven Spielberg. I was like “Oh my God I have to see that!” I saw it on opening weekend twice. It just captured my imagination and swept me up. I was one of the kids who in that generation who saw that movie. I can’t think of anyone who’s like I haven’t seen Jurassic Park.”

Which meant that his favorite part of working on the film?

“Probably Steven Spielberg. Working with him and having him be a peer now is pretty remarkable. He’s a guy who’s an icon. I was never a film buff as a kid. I liked to entertain people and I liked comedy and I liked to escape with a movie now and then, but I knew who Steven Spielberg was. He was the first real celebrity director. Like the director you’d go see his movie because it was his movie. And Jurassic Park was a big event for me. So working with him and just the idea that everyday the dailies would go back and he’d be sitting there watching them. And they’d be like, “He really likes them!” And I’d be like, “You’re just saying that to be nice!””

So there you have it folks. Chris Pratt should be back for at least one follow up to ‘Jurassic World’ and if they can keep up the good reviews and all of us in our seats he may be back for a few more as well.
