‘Whose side are you on?” That’s the titular question surrounding next year’s ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ and it is something that will be hotly debated amongst fans, not necessarily about their own stance about the argument/ battles between Iron Man and Captain America’s allies, but rather about which character is going to side with which hero, and the consequences resulting from that. There are some heroes that will clearly side with Captain America, such as Black Widow and Falcon, while others will clearly be on Iron Man’s side, like War Machine, but there are a lot more heroes out there whose loyalty we just do not know, including Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye.

Hawkeye worked for SHIELD for years, ostensibly leaving when it was discovered that HYDRA had infiltrated the storied organization. He has also been an Avenger from the beginning, working closely with Captain America and Iron Man, even going so far as to let the entire team recuperate at his secret family farmhouse during ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron.’ So the question is, who will Hawkeye choose to side with? Or will he choose to not decide at all?

The question was brought up because of a picture Jeremy Renner posted on his Twitter account recently, a black and white photo of the actor holding up a Promo image from Marvel welcoming him to the set, with the phrase “Whose side are you on?” printed on the top. Below the pic Renner asks his followers the same question, continuing the trend of actors in the film presenting that question to fans. It’s very exciting, and I enjoy how hype is already being built for the upcoming confrontation even though ‘Captain America: Civil War’ does not open until May 2016.

What are your thoughts on the matter? Will Hawkeye side with Captain America? Iron Man? Not pick a side and work as mediator between the two? (they did say Hawkeye would have a large role in the film, mediator would certainly fit the bill). Let us know your opinions in the comments below!
