At this point, everyone knows that Carrie Fisher will be among the original cast members returning to reprise their iconic roles for J.J. Abrams’ ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens.’ However, not many people may know that the actress’ daughter Billie Lourd is in the movie as well. Though there have been a few rumors here and there about who the 22-year-old could be playing, Lourd recently squashed the biggest one.

When Lourd was announced for ‘Episode VII,’ reports began to speculate that she would be Princess Leia’s daughter since she’s her daughter in real life. Other rumors even said that she would be playing a younger Leia in flashbacks. But while speaking to The Wrap to promote the upcoming Fox horror comedy series ‘Scream Queens,’ Lourd spoke very briefly about her first acting gig, which happens to be one of the most anticipated sequels in all of pop culture, and let us know who she won’t be playing:

“I’m not Princess Leia’s daughter.”

Well, that’s quite the definitive statement, isn’t it? Although, just because Lourd isn’t the daughter of Han Solo and Princess Leia doesn’t mean that they don’t have a child. Another popular theory is that Daisy Ridley’s Rey is their daughter, but it has also been said that she could be the daughter of Luke Skywalker instead. Of course, all of this is just speculation since we really don’t know anything beyond the vague details provided by the trailers and comments made at Star Wars Celebration. Chances are though that we’ll likely find out more details sooner rather than later as we get closer to the film’s release and the promotional campaigns really kick into lightspeed.

Who do you think Billie Lourd will play in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’? Do you think that her character will have any connection to her mother Carrie Fisher’s character Princess Leia? Sound off in the comments.
