While Anna Paquin’s (‘True Blood,”Trick r Treat’) Rogue was heavily cut from ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ she would be willing to return for another go at the character – though there is a condition. While a special “Rogue Cut” of the film is set to be released later this summer, there is still a huge want to see her have some more on screen action. As she isn’t set to be in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse‘ there is no word that we might be seeing her reprise the role at any point in the near future.
So what would it take for her to come back? Well that’s actually quite easy. She just needs to be allowed to absorb one of the mutant powers people have already seen her have in the comics for years.
@AnnaPaquinFans if I get to fly, absolutely

To clarify she doesn’t just want to fly. She wants to actually be more like how Rogue currently is in the comics.
@AnnaPaquinFans no I’m saying that comic book rogue gets to fly and I never did. I want to be badass rogue not shy teen rogue — Anna Paquin (@AnnaPaquin) April 19, 2015
I’m assuming Paquin wants to skip over the part where Rogue spends a slew of time of dealing with the voices of people she has overly absorbed that are still talking to her and the guilt of how she acquires her powers to becoming the strong woman that the superheroine finally turns into. In all honesty, I would be okay with that. She’s been a pretty weak character for the most part in the first films and with how much she was cut from the last I’d love to see her actually evolve into someone a little closer to her comic persona. With the changes in the timeline from ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ it could be very feasible that she has already gone through this process if they did make an effort to bring her back to the big screen.
Of course, this would all be assuming that Fox doesn’t just recast her as they are recasting all of the other mutants from her films that we’ve seen on screen so far.
I have a feeling this isn’t something we should be holding our breath for no matter how much we’d all love to see it happen. Unless she shows up in ‘Wolverine 3,’ it seems that the cast from ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ might be too young for her to have a reason to make an appearance.
