Chimichanga! We have confirmation that Ed Skrein (‘Game of Thrones’,’Ill Manors’) is all set to play the villain Ajax in ‘Deadpool‘! After three months of being a mystery character when he and T.K. Miller were announced to be in the running for the film, it’s good to know who we’ll see him play. A leaked script which we have no knowledge if it will prove to be true, had both Ajax and Garrison Kane as two of the main villains that the Merc with the Mouth will find himself up against. With at least Ajax still in the movie, it wouldn’t surprise me if we end up hearing casting in the near future for Kane as well.

Skrein made the official announcement on Twitter with the following Tweet:

In the comics Ajax, or Fancis, is part of the Weapon X program that brought us Deadpool, Wolverine, and so many others. The experiments had a huge mental impact on Ajax which I’m sure all of you who have followed the comics and films are shocked by. Leaving him mentally unstable, Ajax demands respect from all of those around him and since Wade doesn’t ever stop running his mouth, the two tend to butt heads. When Ajax eventually escapes from the program, his goal is to kill everyone that was a part of it, Deadpool included.

With so many Weapon X related rumors it is kind of hard to tell if we’re going to be jumping right into the action or getting a bit of an origin story as well. With ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ being retconned by both ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past‘ as well as Deadpool’s upcoming film there is plenty of room for some flashback stories.

Weapon X or not, which new or returning characters would you love to see included in ‘Deadpool’?

Synopsis:

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, ‘Deadpool’ tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade WIlson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

‘Deadpool’ will be slicing and dicing his way into the big screen on February 12th, 2016
