It’s a horror film that is on the must see list for any fan. ‘Poltergeist’ made those who saw it think twice about their television sets and freaky looking clown dolls. When it was announced that the film would be rebooted, groans and cries of dismay were heard in the fandom. After all, remakes of classic horror films like ‘Carrie’ and ‘Psycho’ really didn’t do their respective properties any justice. However, the trailer for the reboot of ‘Poltergeist’ may actually change your mind about this film.

Produced by Sam Raimi (who also produced ‘Evil Dead’ and ‘The Grudge’) and directed by Gil Kenan (‘Monster House), ‘Poltergeist’ does exude that remake feel with several recognizable scenes almost being played out as it was in the first film. However, the little nuances of differences do give it a fresh feel. Updating the movie with technological advances since the original film was released in 1982, audiences will probably now add cell phones and tablets on the list of things to be wary of beyond the tv sets.

The trailer is scarily fantastic and from the reaction I got just by watching it, I can tell you now, I’m ready to hand over my money to get the living daylights scared out of me.

Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi and director Gil Kenan contemporize the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and hold the youngest daughter captive, the family must come together to rescue her before she disappears forever.
