We all know that the new ‘Ghostbusters‘ has a plan to be an all female team but there are now rumors that Ryan Gosling is on the studio’s list to play the male lead. Not only that, but there could also be a ‘Ghostbusters’ spin-off film in development starring a team up of Channing Tatum and Chris Pratt!

Who are you gonna call now? It seems as if two teams of ‘Ghostbusters’ are going to be put together if all of this comes true.

It’s interesting to note that while Paul Feig has recently met with Rebel Wilson, her name wasn’t on the list of actresses that Sony wanted in the film which included Emma Stone, Melissa McCarthy, Amy Schumer, Lizzy Caplan and Jennifer Lawrence. What else is interesting is how they plan on having Gosling join the cast, but in what capacity? Could he be a boyfriend, love interest, villain? There are quite a few options here they have to play with. My personal favorite, though, would be if they ended up having him as the group’s secretary.

On the other end of the spectrum there is already word of a potential ‘Ghostbusters’ spinoff film that would include Channing Tatum and Chris Pratt as the leads! It’s actually a pitch being made by Tatum and the producers who were trying to keep things from Chris Pratt as a surprise as he’s already involved in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and ‘Jurassic World.’ Still, Tatum seems excited about the film writing, “Let us show the world The DarkSide and let us fight it with all the glory and epicness of a HUGE BATMAN BEGINS MOVIE. I know we can make this a huge franchise. Fun adventure craziness. COME OONNNN!!!”.

Not only that, but it would appear that the Russo Brothers are interested in producing the spinoff film with a “super scary” but “super funny” tone. The spinoff film would compliment ‘Ghostbusters 3’ existing in the same universe with the hope that Paul Feig would direct this film after he’s finished with ‘Ghostbusters 3.’

This sounds like an awesome ‘Ghostbusters’ Cinematic Universe concept that previously had been brought up by Dan Aykroyd. If anything, this idea of a spin-off and shared universe has me interested in the film for the first time since we’ve heard that it will be a reboot and not a continuation.

What are your thoughts on the possible Gosling casting and a ‘Ghostbusters’ spinoff potentially already in the works? Do these sound like good ideas to you? Share your thoughts below!
