The year is almost out, with just two weeks left in 2014! So here we are with an all new Toy news Tuesday to help pass the time! On the chance that you’re kind of new to this, Toy News Tuesday is the one weekly column right here on ScienceFiction.com where we seek out all of the awesome news you need to know about any announcements and cool happenings in the toy industry and put them all in one easy to find place for you! There might not be much going on this week, but the few things that are going on still seem like pretty big deals! It’s time to take a deep breath and plunge deep into the Toy News for the week of December 16th, 2014!
Hot Toys Iron Man On Strike
With last week’s reveal of the ‘Hot Rod’ Mark XXII Armor Iron Man figure coming soon, I don’t think anyone expected Hot Toys to reveal ANOTHER new Iron Man ‘Hall of Armor’ figure before the years end! To everyone’s surprise, this week Hot Toys announced the ‘Striker’ Mark XXV Iron Man suit figure! The Hot Toys ‘Iron Man: Hall of Armor’ series just seems to be growing bigger each week! We’re all going to start running out of display space for these guys soon! The full release from Hot Toys is below:

One of the suits Tony Stark has built in Iron Man 3 is the Striker (Mark XXV), the Heavy Construction Suit. This suit is designed for assisting in heavy construction with its distinctive Pneumatic Hammers. Although the hammers are not designed for combat, they still proved to be lethal when Striker assisted in eradicating the two Extremis soldiers who were trying to attack James Rhodes.

Well, actually, it kind of is! This week Diamond Select Toys announced a brand new ‘Pulp Fiction’ Minimates box set based on the infamous ‘Diner Showdown’ scene from the cult classic film! This new set is going to be sold exclusively in Hastings stores and on GoHastings.com!
This brand new figure 4-pack is set to include ‘Casual’ Vincent and Jules (sporting T-shirts and shorts as compared to their iconic suits), as well as the would-be diner-robbers Pumpkin and Honey Bunny! All of these figures have the standard Minimate articulation and accessories for this set include two coffee mugs, two pistols, two snub-nosed revolvers, an alternate ‘shouting’ head for Honey Bunny, a spare ’empty’ regular set of hands for Jules, and of course the infamously mysterious briefcase that Vincent and Jules were bringing to Marsellus Wallace!
Wait Til Your Motherbox Hears About This
While there has been very little actually revealed about it at this point, the crew over at DC Collectibles have released a trailer for an all new 1:1 prop replica of a ‘Mother Box’ from the DC Universe! Most DCU fans will recognize the Motherbox as a teleportation device used by Darkseid and his minions from Apokalips. Besides in the comics themselves, the Motherbox is an item that usually appears in almost every new rendition of Darkseid in any form of media, so it’s a very iconic piece of equipment!
The Motherbox 1:1 prop replica from DC Collectibles is set to feature ‘multiple unique light sequences’ and ‘multiple unique sounds’, so it’ll probably be a pretty neat piece of memorabilia! It’s set to release in the summer of 2015, so with the release date so soon it’s hard to imagine more details won’t leak out soon! Check out the full trailer below!
The Dark Knight Returns For Wave 4
With the first wave hitting stores now, and waves two and three not far behind them, it seemed like it was only a matter of time before DC Collectibles revealed the line-up for the fourth wave of 6” scale figures based on the classic ‘Batman: The Animated Series’! The new wave of figures, which is set to release in July of 2015, includes Batgirl, Riddler, Penguin, and finally, the classic version of Batman himself from the earlier episodes of the hit series! With this classic animated series growing closer and closer to it’s 25th anniversary, it’s no surprise that fans are as ravenous as ever for new products based on the iconic animated serial. It’s safe to say we can expect news of a fifth and possibly sixth wave in the near future.

Get ready for the Funko Forecast! This is where we’re going to be showcasing all of the cool new announcements and reveals from Funko! With all of the awesome that consistently seems to be flowing out of those guys, it shouldn’t be hard to keep this section alive each and every week!
Funko Black Butler
This week Funko officially announced their all new lineup of POP! Vinyl figures based on the hit anime ‘Black Butler’! This new wave of POP! Vinyl figures includes Ciel, Grell, Sebastian, and Undertaker! These figures are set to start hitting stores this January!
Planet X Groot at Entertainment Earth
If you’re a ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ fan, now is your chance to snag one of the coolest looking Groot figures around!
