The excitement is mounting for this week’s ‘Arrow’/’The Flash’ crossover event, fueled by details released by the creative team in the episode synopsis and photos from the episodes themselves. Below you can see a rundown of the second episode of the crossover, ‘The Brave and the Bold,’ and all 17 of the photos released by the team.

With the introduction of Captain Boomerang (whose name we’ll learn is Digger Harkness) at the end of this week’s episode of ‘Arrow,’ it was clear that he was going to be a major player during the crossover event, which makes sense as he is one of the better know villains of the Flash, plus one of the higher profile members of the Suicide Squad, a group we have already seen on ‘Arrow.’ All of which means he has connections to both heroes/ both shows, and is a pretty good choice for a villain who can both handle the Flash’s speed and has a tech-based long-distance weapon so we can have a shot against the Arrow and his bow. According to the information below, it seems Captain Boomerang has a beef with Diggle’s girlfriend/baby-mama Lyla, which should be enough to spur our heroes into swift action to protect her and the child, although it also says they will also be dealing with Lyla’s employer, the A.R.G.U.S. folks, and when they are involved, things always end up more complicated. But it does mean we might get to see Amanda Waller meet the Flash and weigh in on the meta-human issue in Central City, which would be interesting as she seems to be the one the government in the CW-DC Universe goes to for handling out of the ordinary crisis’ (see sending her team in during the Slade siege of Starling City).

Regardless, the crossover should be fun just to see all the characters from the two shows interacting, and could potentially be a preview of things to come if they manage to get another DC show onto the CW, which will of course lead to many more cross-overs in the future. Here’s hoping they get it right!

PART TWO OF THE ARROW AND FLASH CROSSOVER EVENT — Oliver (Stephen Amell),Arsenal (Colton Haynes) and Diggle (David Ramsey) track down the location of a boomerang-wielding killer named Digger Harkness (guest star) but are surprised when they come face to face with an A.R.G.U.S. team. Diggle asks Lyla (guest star) why A.R.G.U.S. is involved but she defers until Harkness attacks the building, killing several agents and targeting Lyla. The Arrow joins the fight and gets help from an old friend – The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin). Harkness manages toget away and Oliver teams up with Barry again to find him before he can get to Lyla. When Harkness plants five bombs in the city that are timed to explode at the same time, both teams must come together to save the city. Jesse Warn directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti &Andrew Kreisberg, and teleplay by Marc Guggenheim & Grainne Godfree Schwartz (#308).
