Hot on the rumor mill right now is news that English model Cara Delevingne is in talks to portray fan favorite ‘Harley Quinn’ in the upcoming ‘Suicide Squad’ movie.

While not one of the core members of the original ‘Suicide Squad’ team, in the new 52 update of the series, Harley Quinn is prominently featured, and it seems Warner Bros sees it as the perfect opportunity to finally bring the Joker’s psychotic paramour to the big screen.  While not officially confirmed in the part, and while the inclusion of Harley Quinn in the squad has not been officially announced either, Delevigne has been approached to play “the villainous female role” in the film, and fans are fairly certain that when director David Ayers finally puts his own mark on the script, Harley Quinn will almost certainly be included. For anyone unfamiliar with Delevingne, below is a recent instagram photo she released:

In a strange twist, just a few weeks ago Delevingne posted a photo of herself as ‘Harley Quinn’ on her instagram, which you can see below. She looks good in the costume, and looks like she might have just the right look of faux innocence and brilliant craziness that defines ‘Harley Quinn’ as a character. Keep in mind, the photo and the timing is most likely just a coincidence:

The film is looking to feature some major Hollywood players already, with names like Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, and Tom Hardy supposedly in talks to star, not to mention rumors of Jesse Eisenberg’s ‘Lex Luthor’ potentially being involved in the film as well. The film has not yet begun production, but looks very likely to be released in 2016, potentially in the August 5th slot Warner Bros has claimed already.
